Elegance,  Warmth,  Wonder, Whimsy,  Serenity.

                                 These are the emotions I attempt to express in my work.

                                                   Painting is my  "joie de vivre!"

                                               Teaching others is my "raison d'etre"

 Although Sue has had no formal art education, she has taken art seminars and classes from numerous talented  nationally recognized artist including Paul Jackson, Al Stine, Don Andrews, George James, and John Salminen

Sue began painting about twenty years ago as a hobby. She began  teaching shortly thereafter at the "Checkered Flag Hobby Country" store in South St.Louis County. Through the years she became more and more enamored with watercolor as her favorite medium. She likes to paint a variety of subjects , but portraits and florals are her specialty.

Sue opened her own shop, aka Chique Gallery & Studio,  in 2004 in Arnold , MO, where she currently teaches classes and displays and sells her work and that of other local artists. Sue accepts commissions for portraiture or  other works.

Sue's paintings have been accepted and rewarded in numerous local and national juried art shows and was most recently was awarded the " Artist of the Year Award" for 2007 by the Jefferson County Artist Guild.
